Let's Make a Deal

My 1000 YouTube Subscribers Giveaway

Monty Hall wants to make you a deal

“Actually, I’m an overnight success, but it took me 20 years.”

Monty Hall, host of “Let’s Make a Deal”

Thanks for making me an overnight success

In Dungeons & Dragons, a campaign is referred to as a “Monty Haul” campaign when the DM is overly generous to the players. A Monty Haul Dungeon Master gives out a ton of gold and silver, high-powered magic items, and a lot of other treasure without too much trouble.

This is what this email is about. Just call me Monty Haul for today.

Why?

Because today, I do feel like an overnight success, thanks to you!

A brief history

On January 1, my Philosophy of Game Mastering YouTube channel had 4 subscribers. Today, it has 905, and I feel more successful than ever.

Compared to other YouTube channels, 905 subscribers is the little leagues. But I don’t care, because the only place to go from here is up.

I recently got an email from a game designer/writer wanting to collaborate with me on a new video on Pact Magic in RPGs. I’m even getting inquiries from indie game publishers reaching out for sponsorships, wanting me to promote their Kickstarters!

This is wild—something I knew was possible but never thought would happen.

I guess what they say about content creation is true:

  • Just start

  • Don’t give up

  • And keep going

And that’s what I plan to do. Thank you for being a part of it!
